This diagram summarizes the aspects of prostate brachytherapy:

  • How radioactive seeds are placed in the prostate through needles
  • How the needles are guided through a template into the perineum
  • How the seed placement is imaged through use of a transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)

This illustration also depicts the anatomical relationship of surrounding structures, such as the bladder and colon.
